In A Cabin In The Mountains

Hi it's me again here with a new metation. So with that, let's get started.
Make yourself comfortable and allow yourself to relax. Inhale and exhale deeply and slowly. Continue to breathe like this for a moment or two.
Visualize yourself in a cabin in the mountains. There’s a fire crackling in the fireplace. You’re snuggling under a warm comforter while sitting in a well-cushioned chair. See the fire as it dances in front of you. Hear the snapping, crackling, and popping sounds that the wood makes as it surrenders to the flame. Notice the warmth on your face as you wrap yourself up in your quilt.
The cabin is dark accept the areas close to the firelight. There are shadows on the walls and on the floor. Notice the warmth, the sounds, the dance of shadows, and the warmth of the flames. All of these things come together inside of you to make you calm, joyful, and peaceful. Enjoy these good feelings.
You look out the window and you see the snow on the ground. In addition, the full moon washes the scenery with its pale light. The difference between the coolness of the snow and the warmth of the cabin is very inviting. As you look out the window, it starts snowing again. Gently and calmly you take off your comforter, stand up and stretch. You can feel the cool calmness just beyond the circle of warmth made by the fire. Calmly you more toward the door, open it and step outdoors.
The cold air is invigorating and wakes you up. You welcome the cold contrast. Notice how one delicate snowflake lands on the back of your hand. Pay attention to its beauty and serenity. It looks like a tiny ice sculpture that was made just for you. So tiny and fragile. It’s hard to believe that the earth is covered with so many of these tiny ice sculptures.
You stand quietly and observe the snowflake. There’s nothing that you have to do or anywhere that you have to be right now. You watch the snowflake. Your hand’s warmth reaches through the snowflake and it starts melting. However, just as that one goes away, another one lands on the same place. It’s so similar to the other one, but so different.
Observe the snow while it softly falls. It caresses your eyelashes and lands on your face. The snow falls to the ground in its own way and at its own pace. There’s no need to hurry no need to rush. It’s as if every flake is enjoying the trip.
Just as the snowfalls at its own pace and in its own way, your body will heal itself at its own pace and in its own way. As you watch the snowfall you think to yourself, “My body’s own healing energy will take over in due time without any planning or effort on my part. There isn’t anything that I have to do but to just let it happen.”
Come back inside of the cabin, wrap yourself in your quilt, close your eyes and relax.
Take another deep cleansing breath and exhale slowly. Keep your eyes closed and notice your surroundings. Breathe in and out. You feel totally refreshed and rested by your trip to the cabin. When you feel ready, take one more deep cleansing breath, count to five slowly, stretch yourself out a bit, and slowly open your eyes.
I hope that you've enjoyed this meditation as much as I've enjoyed bringing it to you. I'll be back in a cuple of days with a new one until then ~Nameste~,

The Forest and the Meadow.

Hi, it's me again with your next meditation. So with that, let's get started.
Make yourself comfortable and allow yourself to relax. Take a deep cleansing breath all the way down into your belly. Continue to breathe in this way for a moment or two. Allow your eyes to close and your mind to clear. If a thought comes into your mind, don’t worry about it. Just let it go and decide that you can come back to it later, but not right now. Inhale slowly, and exhale letting go of all the tension of the day. Once again, breathe in and out. Pay attention to your muscles. Let go of all of the tension that has them all tied up in knots. Inhale, exhale, you’re calm.
Now visualize that you’re walking through a lush green forest. There are tall trees reaching up on every side of you. The branches are filled with green leaves and are reaching high above you. Notice that the sun’s rays make designs of darkness and light all around you. Notice how at the same time the patterns of darkness and light play across your face and body. Notice also the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the shade at the same time.
Remember how your life was filled with moments of darkness and light. Despair and hope, disappointment and expectancy. Both the times of warmth and cold have come together to shape that you are today. Joy and sorrow are like the patterns of the leaves. Enjoy the warmth and the coolness. They both come together in order to make life good.
Over a little hill you come to a meadow of grass and wild flowers. All the colors of the rainbow. They’re all intermingled with the green grass. You lay down in the meadow and look up at the bright colors. The ground is inviting. There’s nothing here that can harm you in any way. Laying here is pleasurable. The ground moves under you, just like the waves of the ocean. Soft winds move through the blades of grass and wildflowers, and they touch you softly. The soft touches are relaxing.
You feel total quietude and solitude as the forest and the meadow captivate you and you’re one with nature. Everything in your life has come together to make this moment. You don’t have any regrets. You didn’t make any mistakes. During your life, you made choices that you thought were the best at that time. Each event of your life was a stepping-stone for the event that followed. In addition, this moment will lead you to others. However, for now you’re at peace and rest.
Notice the different sounds of the woodlands. The songs of various kinds of birds, the breezes rustling through the grass and wildflowers, you hear the branches making a creaking sound as it moves towards the earth. A woodpecker makes a hammering sound. These entire melodies come together to make nature’s symphony.
Every moment of life has come together to make its own special blend to the harmony in your life. Every sound around you came together to make a wonderful song of nature. Every individual sound is pleasurable by itself. However, when they come together, they sing a combined hymn of praise to God. You too, are part of God’s creation. You’re so calm and at one
With nature. The woodland creatures have adopted you as one of their own. A squirrel climbs halfway down an oak tree to get a closer look at you lying in the grass. A deer comes into the clearing. Both of you look at each other. Then she crosses the meadow. Next a blue bird lands next to you looking for worms. He looks at you shortly as if to say “Hi” then goes about his business. You feel at home here in the forest. Lay here and enjoy the communion with God and nature.
Close your eyes and listen to the sounds of nature. Inhale deeply, and exhale slowly. Fondly remember all that your senses beheld. Continue to feel all of the calmness, joy, and tranquility of relaxing in the forest.
Another cleansing breath brings you gently to the present. The contentment, mood, sights, smells, sounds, and textures of nature stay with you. As you come back to the here and now, you keep all that you’ve experienced in the forest and the meadow with you. One more deep cleansing breath and you feel refreshed, relaxed, and renewed. You still feel connected with nature and all is well.
When you feel ready, gently rouse yourself by counting slowly to five, opening your eyes, and stretching yourself out a little. Be as mindful of your surroundings now as you were in the woods a little while ago. Hold onto all of the good feelings that you’ve experienced as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.
I hope that you've enjoyed this meditation as much as I've enjoyed bringing it to you. I'll be back in a couple of days with another meditation. So until then ~Nameste~,

The Healing Tree

Hi it's me again with another meditation. I was trying to figure out whether to put this one in the previos section of the blog or in this one. But I decided that this one would be better here. I hope you enjoy it & find it helpful for whatever you may be facing.
Get into a comfortable position in which you can relax. Take a slow, deep cleansing breath all the way down into your belly and allow your eyes to close. As you breathe out, allow all of your concerns to drift away. There’s no place that you have to go of nothing that has to be done right now. Again, breathe in and allow the breath to come into the very core of your being. Exhale, and feel the calmness. Take another deep cleansing breath and slowly let go as you arrive at your calm center.
In your mind’s eye, picture a tree before you. A large old tree has witnessed many years of change around it. Throughout its lifetime, it grew bigger, stronger, and wiser.
Feel the tree and notice the way that its bark feels. Also pay attention to the energy that’s inside the tree. Its strength is firm and quiet. It got its strength from understanding and wisdom. Allow the calm strength to come into your body and mind. Allow yourself to experience the tree’s life giving, healing energy. In the same way, you too, have this calm inner strength, which you’ll be able to call upon when needed.
The energy nurtures you and makes your healing system strong. This isn’t a force to be shown off so that the whole world can admire it. Instead the energy exists to make your inner self and your healing system stronger.
The quiet power of the tree gives you a sense of tranquility. It helps you to live with your changing body as it continues in the healing process. Be mindful of the energy that lies in the midst of the serenity. Give the calmness permission to this calmness to come into every part of you and notice it moving through you.
Touch the tree and the ground under your feet. Picture your legs and feet reaching down into the earth where the rich dark soil is. Visualize your feet coming together with the tree’s roots. This same soil nourishes the tree.
I hope that you've enjoyed this meditation as much as I've enjoyed bringing it to you. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new one. Until then ~Nameste~,

Introduction to the next group of meditations & the first meditation for this section

Hi it's me again. Sorry it took so long to give you the next meditation, but I was trying to figure out how to go about it without all the repetive typing. But here it is.
The purpose behind this next group of meditations is to give your mind a mini vacation. You can use them when you're stressed out and just need a break, you're healing from illness, injury, or surgery. So with that, let's get started

Rain shower
Get into a comfortable position and allow yourself to relax. Set aside all of your concerns take a deep cleansing breath and allow your eyes to close.

Now picture yourself walking through the countryside. Breathe in and smell the freshness of new growth. Breathe out and let go of all of your burdens. Inhale relaxation and peace; exhale pain, stress, and tension. Inhale and exhale.
From a distance, you hear a sound.
You turn around and see big rain clouds coming in. They continue to grow while you watch. They’re getting bigger and bigger. In addition, they’re climbing higher and higher up into the warm summer sky. They continue to get darker as you continue to watch them take in more moisture until they can’t hold anymore.

You ask yourself, “How long will it be before it starts raining?” Even as you wonder about this, you realize that there isn’t any way for you to know. It will start raining only when the clouds are ready to release it. Not a moment sooner or later. While you ponder this, you notice the 1st few raindrops softly touching your cheeks with their warmth.
You welcome the warm raindrops. They almost feel like a warm shower. and You allow them to come to you 1 at a time until you’re all wet. Allow the rain to wash away any fatigue, pain, stress, or tension that’s in your body and mind.
The mild soothing rain supports all of life. Your soul and spirit also feel at peace by the healing touch. You feel as if you’re a part of life and that life’s a part of you. Lay back and enjoy the wetness, warmth, and the earth. All of life is connected in this moment. You’re happy and full of life.
Eventually, the rain slows to a light sprinkle, and then to a few drops. The clouds go away and the sun begins to shine down on the freshly washed field. You smell the cleansed air, and you notice that the birds are singing their songs again. The earth has been washed clean, and you’re a part of it.
Enjoy the warm sun on your skin. The sun can’t burn or hurt you in any way. As you breathe deeply and slowly.
Now, start to let the image of the countryside fade. Take another deep cleansing breath, become aware of your surroundings, inhale and exhale. You feel totally refreshed, rejuvenated, and relaxed. When you feel ready, open your eyes and go in peace.

The Relaxation Thermometer

Hi it's me again. The reason for this last meditation in this section of the blog is to help you to acheive a super-deep state of relaxation. The kind that you'll need while in the early stages of "healing land".l (This means if you're sick, hurt, or you've just had surgery). So with that, let's get started.

Instructions:
A. Get into a comfortable position and allow your eyes to gently close. Take several deep cleansing breaths & allow yourself to relax.
B. Now with your imagination, picture that on the inside of your body is a large, soft, bendable thermometer that's been inverted. Its bulb is above your forehead and the base of the tube goes all the way down to the soles of your feet. Within the bulb is a colorless, oderless liquid of natural painkilers & relaxents. There are 40 levels within the thermometer. As you count yourself down form 40,39,38, and so forth visualize the liquid flowing easily from one number to the next. This liquid flows into your bloodstream helping your body to relax even more. In order to help make this concept stronger & more real, picture more of the liquid flowing down inside of the thermometer's tube. You'll find yourself becoming more deeply relaxed as the liquid fills more of the space inside the tube.
C. When you get to the round numbers of 30,20,10, & 9, you'll find yourself in a new & deeper state of relaxation. As you approach the last 10 numbers, you'll reach a super-deep state of relaxation and you'll be totally zoned out. (Which is where you'll want to be in the early stages of healing).
D. When you're totally relaxed, picture yourself wearing a long glove that has a very strong anestheic inside of it. Make this glove any color that you'd like it to be. Now picture this anesthetic moving from your fingertips, up your arms, and all the way up to your elbows. Picture your whole arm becoming cold & numb....Cold & numb. Once it's completely cold & numb, picture yourself transferring that numbness to any part of your body that has any discomfort or pain.
E. You can use this imagery alone or with your healing assistant. (The second option is helpful if you're facing a potenialy uncomfortable medical procedure or even surgery.
F. When you're ready, take one last deep cleansing breath, count slowly to 5, stretch yourself out a bit & slowly open your eyes. Take these feelings of relaxation with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.
I hopw that you've found this meditation helpful and I didn't lose anyone! I'll be back in a couple of days with the introduction to the next section of this blog. So until then ~Nameste~,

The Healing Cocoon of Light

Hi, it's me again with a new meditation. This one's kind of long so let's get started.
Instructions:
Find a place & time where you won't be distracted or disturbed. Get into a comfortable position with your arms & legs uncrossed. Take a deep cleansing breath all the way down into your belly. Take another deep cleansing breath.... & Another. Even though your eyes are becoming fatigued, keep them open just a little longer and take another slow deep cleansing breath. Your eyelids are getting heavier & heavier. Allow them to close as you say to yourself (insert your own affirmation here).
Now you can start to allow the muscles in your body to relax. Allow your legs to relax. Feel them becoming heavier....and heavier.... As they relax, your legs are becoming heavier and heavier. As they release the last bit of muscular tension, your legs are becoming heavier and more relaxed, heavier and more relaxed. Your arms too are becoming heavier and heavier. AS they release the last bit of tension in their muscles. You can feel gravity weighing them down. Your arms are heavier and heavier more & more relaxed. Your arms and legs feel very relaxed as they release the last bit of muscular tension becoming more & more heavy and relaxed.
And now your face too can begin to let go of tension. Your forehead is becoming smooth & relaxed. In addition your cheeks are becoming smooth and relaxed. And now your jaw can begin to relax. Feeling more and more loose & relaxed. As your jaw relaxes more & more you feel your muscles releasing and your lips beginning to seperate as your juw is becoming more and more loose and relaxed.
Now our neck and shoulders can begin to relax. Your neck is loose and relaxed.... and you shoulders are relaxed and drooing. Feel your neck and shoulders becoming more and more deeply relaxed.... So loose and relaxed.
Take another deep cleansing breath. And as you do allow the relaxation to spread into your chest, belly, and back. In addition, as you brethe out, fl yourself becoming calm and relaxed, calm and relaxed. Now take another deep cleansing breath. And as you breathe out, feel your chest, belly, and back becoming calm and relaxed....Calm and relaxed.
Sense yourself drifting deeper....deeper....deeper.... and deeper. Becoming more and more calm, drowsy, and peaceful. Drifting and drowsy.... drowsy and drifting.... Drifting down, down, down, into complete relaxation. Drifting deeper and deeper more and more relaxed.
Now picture yourself in a beautiful outdoor setting. Visualize a clear day with the sun shining and warming your skin. Picture yourself wearing your favorite most comfortable dress or outfit. Just you by yourself (unless you choose to bring someone with you) enjoying the freedom of being in God's presnse. Notice how beautiful the sky is. How clear and blue it is. A familiar light breeze and the the beauty of your favorite natural setting s all around you.
Notice a path leading to a special place off to one side. And you decide to take a walk down this path because it looks so inviting. You feel so free to be adventurous and to do whatever you like. So begin to walk down this beautiful path and just enjoy these good feelings. As you continue down the bath, you notice that beyond you there seems to be a clearg just beyond the trees.
As you come closer to the end of the path, you can see that before you are three teraces, leading down a wide clearing. As you step onto the first terace, you notice that at the bottom of the clearing is a beautiful garden with all of your favorite flowrs and plants. It seems so colorful and inviting. However, in order to get there you have to walk down 3 sets of steps with 5 steps in each set. In a moment I'll help you to walk down those steps. With each step you take just allow yourself to become twice as relaxed as you are now. Just release any leftover tension that's in your muscles. Allow yourself to become more and more deeply relaxed as you allow the image to become brighter, clearer, and more inviting to your mind.
Alright now, I'll just count each of going down to the second terrace. With each step you take tell yourself, "I'm becoming twice as relaxed as I was before". All right 5...4....3....2....1....Now you're twice as relaxed as you were before. Next, take another deep cleansing breath. Breathing in deeply and breathing out allowing the relaxation to spread throughout your body. Just enjoying the warm sun on your skin and the beauty of this place that God has created. In a moment I'll help you go down the next set of steps, enabling you to go into a more relaxed state.
Allright, 5....4.....3.....2.....1..... Now you're twice as relaxed as you were before. Now see yourself standing on the last terrace. This is the last one that you have to go down before you enter your garden, let's go there now. In addition, with each step you take, please tell yourself, "I'm entering into a wonderful state of deep, healing, relaxation. Keep repeating this affirmation as we go down the last set of steps.
Let's go there now. 5....4....3.....2.....1... As you breathe deeply and enjoy the sensaons that you're creaing you might even tell yourself, "I'm feeling well in body, mind, and spiri".
While you're enoying these sensations take a look at your garden and notice hat in the middle of all this beauty ther is there is a small fountiain with a comfortable looking chair next to it just waiting for you to take a seat and allow all of your discomfort, pain, and troubles to go away. If you like, you could take your shoes off and enjoy the lush grass beneath your feet as you walk over to your chair. The garden is perfectly safe. There isn't anything in the garden that can harm or hurt you in any way. Enjoy these feelings as you walk easily toward the chair.
As you come toward the fountain and listen to the sooting sounds of the gurgling water, you can take a seat in the chair. As you settle in, just noice how calm, peacefuk, serene, and tranquil your mind feels and how relaxed your body feels. Close your eyes and feel the sun's warmth on your body. You start to notice the sun casting its orange and yellow rays on the inside of your eyelids. You just eel so comfortable as you allow your mind to clear and your thoughts to drift far, far away. You couldn't open your eyes even if you wanted to. You feel so relaxed and at ease.
Then the most amazing thing occurs. The warm relaxing light that was on the nside of your eyes seems to expand and enclose you like a cocoon. First you feel it on your head, then on your face, moving all the way down until it encloses your entire body. Notice how the light washes away any discomfort or tension. This cocoon of light does indeed feel healing and purifying.
You also notice the more relax, the stronger the cocoon becomes. It takes so little energy to help it grow. So just take in another deep cleansing breath, hold it... hold it... and as you breathe out, just allow that cocoon to expand and move through your entire body. Allow it to wash away any pain or tension that you may have had previously. Just like a warm bath of light. Notice how much better you begin to feel. Notice how the cocoon of light washes away any discomfort or problems
As you feel the cocoon surrounding your body, you notice that it starts at the soles of your feet and slowly moves up to the crown of your head before going back down again. Every time it surrounds you, you feel more relaxed and at ease. Allow the cocoon to move around and through your body once more. Practice moving it throughout your body pausing it at any part of your body that you would like it to become stronger. When you pause at the body part that needs some extra attention, just take another deep cleansing breath and as you breathe out, allow yourself to relax even more. You may even notice how much stronger you can make your cocoon become, just by intention as you breathe out. Notice how you can enjoy just a bit more relaxation and comfort. In addition, notice how it can help you to to forget about any feelings that may have troubled you for a few moments longer.
Those moments of forgetting about any negitive feelings that start to happen for extended periods every day can have a healing effect on you. At first this may take some time and practice until one day you notice that any feelings of pain or tension just becomes a signal to take a deep cleansing breath, visualizing the cocoon becoming stronger once again, and then breathing out. As you inhale, you breathe in comfort and healing light into your bosy. Now it's time to just relax and enjoy the positive sensations of comfort and relaxation in every part of your being. As you breathe deeply, be mindful of the rhythem of your breath. Also notice the positive feelings that you're enjoying from this healing cocoon of light. Now I'll just leave you alone so that you can continue to enjoy this in peace and quiet for a few minutes. In addition, you can practice allowing the cocoon to become stronger, more purifying, and healing. The moment of quietude begins now. (If someone is reading this meditation to you, have him/her wait for 1 1/2 minutes).
OK I'm back again. Shortly I'll just count you up from 1-5 with every number I count, just allow yourself to come back to your normal waking consciousness. Holding onto these good feelings in your body and keeping them with you. 1.... Slowly, gently, and easily allowing yourself to become more mindful of the sounds around you. 2.... Your eyes are clearing under your eyelids. 3.... Holding onto those positive feelings and sensaons as they continue to become stronger and your body is being revitalized. 4.... With this count you may slowly begin to open your eyes feeling refreshed and relaxed with positive thoughts and pleasent sensations filling your entire being.... and 5 Gently opening your eyes feeling alert, refreshed, and wide-awake. Aert, refreshed, and wide awake.
Now Just centeg yourself.... Sensing your relationship to your surroundings, the familiar sights, sounds, smells, and textures of your environment and whatever you may be sitting or lying on. In addition, the center can become very energized and organized Take the feelings of relaxation with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.
Well, did I lose anyone? I told you that this was going to be a long meditation, but I hope that you find it helpful in dealing with any pain or stress that may come into your life. And the reason if I asked if I lost anyone beside the fact that this is such a long meditation is because I made a tape of this meditation for one of my friends who goes to my church and I put her to sleep! So it may be a good idea to make a recording of this one and play it when you go to bed at night so you'll get a good night's sleep. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new meditation. So until then ~Nameste~,

The Mind/Body Control Center

Hi it's me again with another meditation for pain management.

A. Make yourself comfortable and allow yourself to relax completely. Take several deep cleansing breaths.

B. Now in your mind's eye, picture yourself in a control center. As you walk through this room, you'll notice the various dials & knobs that control every bodily function & sensation. You can pratice by finding a knob that controls tingling in your hands. Then turn it up a little and pay attention to how your hands feel. Be mindful of how your hands feel as you do this. The more you picture them tingling, the more they'll feel that way. Next, turn the knob back to normal. If you can use this visualization to create sensations that weren't there, you can also use it to reduce sensations that are there just by going into your control center and adjusting the knobs to your comfort level.

C. When you're ready to finish, take 1-2 final deep cleansing breaths, count slowly to 5, stretch yourself out a bit, & slowly open your eyes. Take these good feelings with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope that you find this meditation helpful for managing discomfort or pain. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new meditation. Until then ~Nameste~,

The Melting Candle

Hi I'm back! Here with the next meditation for this blog. For this meditation you may want to have a sial candle one that can be safely burned for a few hours at a time. However, if you're in the hospital that won't be allowed since it's a fire hazzard. In this case before you go you could take a picture of it with either a digital camera or a camera phone so that you have the picture to look at when needed.

Instructions:

A, Get into a comfortable position and allow yourself to relax. Take a deep cleansng breath all the way down into your belly. Take another one, and another. Continue to breathe in this way for a moment or two.

B. Now picture your discomfort or pain as a large candle that's burning. In addition, every time you breathe the flame gets brighter and hotter. Also, at the same time your pain is melting away. Just as the wax melts from the candle into the dish, the candle gets softer and continues to melt, your body and mind will continue to relax and the pain will melt away. Picture the pain melting with the candle, and your body becoming softer, warmer, and more yeilding to the sensations.

C. When you're ready, take one more deep cleansing breath, count slowly to five, stretch yourself out a little, and slowly open your eyes. Feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. Take these feelings with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope that you find this meditation helpful with any type of painful or stressful situation. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new meditation. So until then ~Nameste~,

The Opening Flower

Hi it's me again here with another meditation for healing acceleation & pain management. In this one you'll learn to open like a flower so the healing energy can move better through you. If you're facing a surgical procedure, you can practice this meditation before or after the operation. You also might want to have your favorite flower in the room with you so you have a visual reminder to open up to the pain just as the flower opens up.

Instructions:

A. Make yourself comfortable and allow yourself to relax. Take a deep cleansing breath all the way down into your belly. Take another deep cleansing breath. And another. Continue to breathe in this way for a moment or two.

B. Say to yourself, "My body is like the bud of a flower that's ready to open up". "I'm cared for by those around me, just as the flower is cared for by the elements". "Just as the flower bud slowly and softly opens and blooms, my body will do likewise". "Just as the outer petals fall away, the pain, stress and tension will do the same". "I welcome the pain and open up to it, just as the flower bud opens up". "Just as the warm sun helps the flower to open up, the warmth I receive helps my body and mind to relax, open up, and heal". "Just as the flower bud doesn't fight the opening, I too will bloom, open, surrender, and yield".

C. When you feel ready, take one more deep cleansing breath, count slowly to 5, stretch yourself out a little, and slowly open your eyes. Feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. Continue to carry these feelings with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope that you find this meditation helpful for handling any kid of pain or stres n your life. I'll be bac in a couple of days with a new meditation. Until then ~Nameste~,

The Healing Wave

Hi it's me again with another meditation. This meditation can be practiced on the floor, in bed, in a bathtub or in a swimming pool with your healing assistant supporting you from behind. (Note: if you practice this in water it's best to do it pre-op). It might also be helpful if you have a tape or CD of ocean waves playing in the background

Instructions:

A. Find a place and time where you won't be distracted or disturbed. Tak a deep cleansing breath all the way down into your belly. And then take another. With each inbreth you breathe in peace and calm. In addition, with each out-breath you let go of what you don't need. (Pain, stress and tension). Continue to breathe like this for a moment or two.

B. Now picture yourself either sitting or lying on a warm sandy beach. The waves are rolling up and back. Just beyond where you're sitting or lying.

C. Say to yourself: "I here the waves and I'm mindful of their rhythmic pattern". "I pay attenton to all sounds around me". "I breathe slowly and easily". "I pay attention to all bodily sensations". "The more I let go, the more supported I feel in the ocean". "My body surrenders and yeilds as the waves carry me along". "the movement of the waves is comforting, healing, & pleasent". "I'm able to breathe and relax with the waves". "As the waves flow, become more intense and get stronger I breathe". As I hear the stillness between the waves, I observe the tide or the ocean". "I notice the waves coming closer and closer until they reach my feet". "I become more mindful of the water touching my feet and I don't back away from it". "The water is warm & relaxing". "As the next wave rushes over my feet, I inhale". "As the wave breaks away, I exhale, allowing every body part to open up and relax". "I allow all fatigue, pain, stress, and tension to leave my bdy as I exhale". "As the comforting and healing waves continue to wash over me, I continue to open up and relax". "Before too long, the waves have moved me into the ocean where I can now float in the water". "After a while, I'm back on the beach and the waves are breaking away".

D. When you're ready, take other deep cleansing breath, count slowly to 5, stretch yourself out a bit, and slowly open your eyes. Feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. Take the calm and peaceful feelings with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope that you've found this meditation helpful when you're in a lot of pain or stressed out. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new meditation. Until then ~Nameste~,

Send Your Pain Away

Hi it's me again with your next meditation. This will help you to let go of any pain that's in your life right now.

Instructions:

A. Make yourself comfortable and allow yourself to relax.

B. Next, in your mind's eye go to your favorite spot.

C. Now picture a large hand behind you supporting your back. Whenever you're in any kind of pain or just tired picture yourself leaning into the hand.

E. When you feel ready wake yourself up gently by taking one more deep cleansing breath, count slowly to 5,, stretch yourself out a bit, and slowly open your eyes.

I hope that you find this meditation helpful whenever you feel that you have more pain than you can handle. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new meditation. Until then ~Nameste~,

Pain Acceptance Meditation

You can use this meditation in order to work with pain directly and speed up the healing process.

Instructions:

A. Make yourself comfortable and allow your eyes to close. Take several deep cleansinng breaths all the way down into your belly. In through the nose and out through the mouth. Do a progressive relaxation so you'll feel settled.

B. Now picture what's going on inside of your body. For example, if you've had abdominal surgery, picture your abdominal muscles coming back together, your intestines waking up, and your skin incision healing without any infections or other complications. In addition, you might want to use the Inner Dialogue exercise in order to help with this. Another way that you may want to use this is if you have to have a lot of blood tests and your veins are bad like mine are. You can visualize the blood flowing into your veins, then into the tubing and syrenge without any problems. In addition you can use a mantra. I use "Go Ahead.". (I actually learned this from a praise and worship tape entitled Welcome Home by Ron Kenoly. And that was one of the songs on the tape. So I use the chorus from that song when I want to talk to any p of my body that needs to cooperate).

C. When you feel ready, slowly wake your body back up by taking one more deep cleansing breath, counting slowly to 5, stretching yourself out a bit, and slowly opening your eyes.

I hope that you find this meditation helpful in accepting and working with whatever physical discomfort or pain that you may have in your body at any time. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new meditation. Until then ~Nameste~,

Glove Anesthesia

Hi it's me again. Here with the next meditation. It's called Glove Anesthesia. This technique was adapted from the book entitled Free Yourself From Pain by David Bresler. It's also on an audiotape entitled Healing Acceleration and Pain Control. This tape is part of the Hypnology series by Dick Sutphen. Instructions:

A. Get into a comfortable position. Take several deep cleansing breaths and allow yourself to relax completely. Now picture hat in front of you there's a large bucket filled with a clear odorless liquid. The liquid is a very powerful anesthetic that can render any tissue insensitive to discomfort or pain.

B. When you're ready, count slowly to three and slowly lower your hands into the bucket. 1....2.....3..... Now lower your hands into the bucket up to your wrists. Feel your fingertips start to tingle as the anesthetic starts to take effect. Soon your hands feel cold and numb. Move your hands to make sure that the anesthetic has taken effect on both of your hands.

C. Now when you count to three place your hands on the part(s) of your body that hurt(s). 1....2....3.... The numbness transfers into your body and your hands take the discomfort and pain that has been in your body and transfers it back to the bucket. Repeat the exercise as many times as needed.

D. When you're ready to complete the exercise, just shake your hands and normal feelings will return. Then take one more deep cleansing breath, count slowly to five, stretch yourself out a little, and slowly open your eyes.

I hope that you find this meditation helpful for managing pain. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new medittion. Until then ~Nameste~

A Place To Heal

This meditation will help you to create an optimal place for healing to happen both in and out of the hospital. (Which is important if you're just having tests or an uncomfortable medical procedure-even major surgery).

A. Make yourself comfortable and allow yourself to relax. Do the inner dialogue exercise that you've learned in the previous meditation.

B. Once you've done that, tell yourself "I'm able and willing to give my body all that it needs in order to heal".

C. After that, imagine that your body can communicate with you. Not only with words, but with images, impressions, thoughts, or feelings creating a mental picture.

D. Ask your body, "where would be the best place for healing to occur?" Allow your body to describe the scenery. Including all of your senses, as well as the temperature and the people and things that you want with you. Allow the image to take shape in your mind as clearly and vividly as possible.

E. Next, picture yourself in a comfortable place where you can lie down and stretch yourself out. And as you do, you feel a sense of calm and relaxation sweeping through you.

F. While you rest, you notice a figure standing beside you. Is this person a man or a woman? Young, middle-aged, or old? As he or she tenderly puts a hand on your shoulders, you feel warmth coming from his or her fingers. Your assistant's eyes shine with wisdom and he or she smiles and asks you, "Where does it hurt? You tell your assistant, your helper where the pain is

G. Next, your healing assistant puts a bunch of white washrags in a bowl and pors a fragrent healing solution on them. What sent is it?

H. After the rags have absorbed some of the healing solution, he/she puts the rags on all of the parts of your body that need to be healed. (Even the a few places that you may have forgotten about or just didn't know about).

I. The rags lay on your body exerting a gentle pressure. While the white rags absorb all of the pain, tension, and toxins they change colors. They go from white to gray to charcoal gray and finally to black. Next, your healing assistant removes these rags and throws them in a white trash bag.

J. Next, your healing assistant puts on a fresh set of rags on your body and the same thing happens. In addition, your assistant removes these rags and tosses them. Now a 3rd set of rags is placed softly on your body and your assistant waits. But these turn light gray and don't get any darker indicating that the healing is complete. Your healing assistant removes these rags and tosses them as well. Then he/she ties a knot in the trash bag to close it up. Again, he/she puts his/her hands on your shoulders. and you thank him/her for helping you to heal. Your healing assistant smiles lovingly, squeezes your shoulders once again and leaves taking the trash bag with him/her in order to get rid of it.

K. You feel tremendously better and you have a heightened sense of well being.

L. When you feel ready, take one more deep cleansing breath, count slowly to 5, stretch yourself out a bit, and slowly open your eyes. Take the feelings of peace and relaxation with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope that you find this meditation helpful in managing pain and accelerating your own healing process. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new meditation. Until then ~Nameste~,

The Elevator Ride To Relaxation

Hi, it's me again. Here's another meditation that you can use to help you reach a state of deep relaxation. You can also use this in preparation for self=hypnosis. This meditation has been adapted from the CD entitled Letting Go Of Stress by Emmett Miller M.D.

A. Get into a comfortable position.

B. Take 2-3 deep cleansing breaths and allow yourself to relax.

C. Now picture yourself in your own private elevator. What does it look like? What's it made of? What color is the wood or metal? Does it have any special padding such as blankets, cushions, or pillows inside? If so, what colors are they? Also pay attention to the textures of these things. Does your elevator have any special lighting inside? Or is it totally dark?

D. Now picture your elevator descending. And as it does, feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed as it goes from 10 to 1. You start descending now. 10....Sense your feet and lower legs becoming more and more relaxed. 9...Now feel the relaxation spreading upward toward your knees and thighs. 8...Next feel your buttocks, hips, and pelvic area letting go of tension. 7....Now allow your belly and lower back to become more and more relaxed. 6....Next, allow the relaxation to spred to your chest and upper back. 5....Allow your neck and shoulders to let go of tension. 4....After that, allow the muscles of back of your head and scalp to relax. 3...Now allow the relaxation to travel to the muscles of your forehead. 2....Next, allow the muscles of your face to let go of tension. 1....Last but not least, allow the muscles of your throat to let go of tension. And 0....Now as your elevator stops allow yourself to become more and more relaxed. If you wish, you could repeat a mantra, use affirmations, a post-hypnotic suggestion or go onto another meditation at this time.

E. When you feel ready simply reverse the counting and feel your elevator ascend. 1...You're still very relaxed. 2...You're starting to become a little more alert. 3....Sense yourself waking up just a little bit more. 4. ..Now you start to notice various parts of your body. 5....Now You'r half-way alert. 6...Now you're becoming aware of your arms and legs. 7....Now you start to move your fingers, toes, arms, and legs. 9....Now you're stretching yourself out a little. 9....Beginning to open your eyes. And 10....Feeling alert, refreshed, and wide awake. Alert, refreshed, and wide awake.

F. now just centering yourself... Sensing your relationship to your surroundings. Notice the ceiling, floor, the walls, and whatever you may be sitting or lying on. In addition the center can become very energized and organized. Take the feelings of calm and relaxation with you as you go on with the rist of your day or evening.

I hope that you enjoy this meditation and find it very helpful. I'll be back in a couple of days with another one. Until then. ~Nameste~,

The Rainbow Of Rest

Hi it's me again with another meditation. This meditation was adapted from the book entitled. Hypnobirthing by Marie This meditation can be done alont or with a partner which I sometimes refer to as your "healing assistant". The more you do this meditation, the easier t will become for you to respond to your healing assistant's voice. This will strengthen the bond between the both of you. (Especially if you're preparing to have an operation or other medical procedure).

Intstructions:

A. Find a quiet place where the both of you won't be distracted or disturbed. Make sure that bth of you are comfortable and the lighting is dim. (You might also find it helpful to have soft music playing in the background). Also the person who's having the operation/procedure should be either sitting in a chair, with his/her head resting on the back of it. Alternately the person can be lying on a bed couch, or on the floor supported by pillows, cushions, or even a beanbag chair.

B. Next, bring yourself into a deeply relaxed state. The kind that you've been practicing. Inhale relaxation and allow it to flow into your body using the relaxation breathing technique.

C. Once you're deeply relaxed, picture yourself lying on a bed of cherry red mist. This mist is 11/2 feet high. Visualize the mist grounding you to earth and connecting you with nature. Picture it entering your feet and legs. Stay with this image until you feel totally relaxed and limp, calm and centered.

D. Next, visualize yourself lying on bed of orange colored mist. Feel it entering your pelvic area and lower belly. Feel how this charges your 2nd energy center which has to do with creativity, finances, and relationships. Do the same thing that you did with the cherry colored mist. In addition, as you do so, you'll find yourself becoming more and more relaxed.

E. Now you see yourself resting on a light yellow mist. Notice how it enters your solor plexus and upper belly. This energy center has to do with your will and emotions. Do the same thing that you did with the other 3 colors and as you do, notice how much more relaxed you're becoming.

F. Now you see yourself resting on a light green mist. This mist enters your heart giving you feelings of love and compassion. As you lie on this mist, sense yourself drifting into a deeper state of relaxation. Again, continue with this until you feel complete with i.

G. After that, picture yourself resting on a light blue mist. The mist enters your throat center giving you clarity of expression and allowing you to communicate. Continue with this until you feel that you're done with it. Notice how much more relaxed you're becoming.

H. Now picture yourself resting on a bed of indigo mist. This is the color of night and allows us to rest. As you do so notice how much more relaxed you're becoming. Stay with this as long as you'd like.

I. Now picture yourself resting on a violet colored mist. Notice how it enters your 3rd eye point just between your eyebrows. Which helps us with discernment, instincts, intuition, knowledge, and wisdom. Continue to stay with this as long as you'd like. And as you do, notice how much more relaxed you're becoming.

J. Lastly, picture yourself lying on a bed of silver, gold, and white mists. These connect us with God's presence and are the colors of spiritualty. Notice how deeply relaxed you feel at this stage.

K. When you feel ready take 1-2 more deep cleansing breaths, count slowly to 5, stretch yourself out a bit and slowly open your eyes. Continue to take the feelings of calm and relaxation with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope that you've enjoyed the meditation as much as I've enjoyed brining it to you. I'll be back in a couple of days with the introduction to the next set of meditations. Until then ~Nameste~

The Light Of Life

Hi it's me again. here's another meditation that you can use instead of the previous one. It's adapted from the booklet entitled Pregnant Pause: Guided Meditations for the Expectant Mother by Cindy and Paul Joeseph

Instructions:

A. Get into a comfortable position , inhale, exhale, and let go. With every breath your body releases stored tensions and the cares of the day. Inhale, exhale, breathe deeply and relax. Softly close your eyes and enjoy the calmness.

B. Now picture yourself sitting quietly as the white light of God's preense fills your entire being. As the light enters and fills you completely, you feel a sense of expectancy, joy love, and peace. All positive feelings flow over you as the white light fills your body.

C. Feel the love of God filling you to overflowing. God is in you and moves through you with every breath you take. God's presense comes into you and touches every part of you. Feel yourself being filled with God's love until it overflows.

Dl As his love touches your heart, you feel a sense of peace, love, and joy. You have a connection with all of creation. You are with God and he is with you.

E. God's love brings you a sense of calm. His presense washes away all of your worries. Inhale the love and peace exhale any anxiety. Feel the warmth as it touches every part of your being. Even the innermost part of yourself that you allow very few people to know. Those parts that you hide a lot of the time (even from yourself). Let God's presense come in.

F. At the innermost part of your being, you picture the light coming together. It gathers to make a very large ball. The ball of God's love is shimmering, shining, and tumbling inside of you.

G. As you observe, you notice the ball is filled completely with light. in addition, it stretches to where it can't hold any more. It starts slowly, and then it fills many places all at one time. The light sends out its rays. However, the rays of light that are coming out aren't white, but they're all the colors of the rainbow.

H. The first color is red. It's connected to earth's energy. It also stands for our feelings both good and bad. Our passions determine who we are and what we're becoming.

I. Orange stands for creativity, reproduction, and sexuality. It's also the color of the early morning sun.

J. Yellow is associated with your will and the afternoon sun.

K. Green is associated with the heart. It brings forth feelings of compassion, gentleness, love, and sympathy. And a willingness to put others ahead of yourself. It's also the color of life.

L. Blue stands for clarity of expression and it allows us to communicate.

M. Indigo is the color of night and allows us to rest.

N. Violet stands for discernment, instincts, intuition, knowledge and wisdom.

O. God's rainbow shines forth from within you. And with that comes his covenant and promise, that he will always be with us.

P. When you feel ready, take another deep cleansing breath, count slowly to five, stretch yourself out a little, come back slowly to your surroundings, and slowly open your eyes. Feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. Take God's love with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope that you've enjoyed this meditattion. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new one. Until then, ~Nameste~, Dana

Holes Of Color

This meditation will help you to stimulate your energy centers or chakras (in yogic theory) . However, for all of my Christian brothers and sisters out there, if the yoga part makes you feel a little uncomfortable you could offer up a prayer of thanksgiving to God for each thing that's associated with each of the energy centers. Tmis meditation was also inspired by a weird dream that I had a long time ago. Instructions:

A. To begin, get nto a comfortable position, take several deep cleansing breaths, close your eyes and allow yourself to relax completely.

B. Now picture yourself standing in a room with eight hoes of different colors all in a row. What size and shape are they? In addition before entering the holes, it would be a good idea to have a blanket with you. You won't need it at first, but later on you will.

C. Now you fall through the first hole. The colors are various shades of red and pink. It's very hot, but there isn't anything in this hole that can burn or hurt you in any way. As you go through it, it stimulates the first energy center that's associated with earth and home. If you wish, you could say this prayer: "Thank you God for grounding me to earth and connecting me with nature"

D. After that, you come to an orange colored hole. You notice that it's not as hot as the red and pink one. This hole is associated with creativity, reproduction, and sexuality. You'll also notice that the energy enters your lower back, belly, and pelvic areas. If you like you could say this prayer: "Thnk you God for that creative, birthing energy and for helping me to keep my hormones as balanced as they can be. (In more ways than one)!

E. Next, you come to a hole that's a sunny yellow color. The temperature in this hole is warm. The energy enters your upper belly and solar plexus regions which are associated with your will and emotions. If you'd like you could say this prayer: Thy will be done".

F. Now you come to the next hole. It's various shades of green. You'll notice that it's slightly cooler than the previous ones. The energy of this hole enters your heart which is associated with unconditional love and compassion for others. If you like, you could say this prayer: "Thank you God for your unconditional love toward me and I pray that you would show me how to extend that to others even though I may feel like killing them sometimes".

G. Now you come to a hole that's various shades of blue. You'll notice that it's cooler than the green one. And I bet you're glad that you brought along your blanket so that you can wrap it around yourself. Sense the energy entering your throat. If you wish, you could say this prayer: "Thank you God for clarity of expression and for showing me how to speak the truth in love".

H. Next, you come to a hole that's indigo, purple, and violet. It's the 2nd coldest hole in the sequence. And by now you're sure glad that you brought your blanket with you. The energy from this hole enters your third eye point in between your eyebrows. This center has to do with your instincts and intuition. If you like you could say this prayer: 'Thank you God for discernment, instincts, intuition, knowledge and wisdom".

I. Now you come to a hole that's all the colors of the rainbow. You go through it so fast, that you don't have any time to experience any one color.

J. Last, but not least, you come th the final hole. It's light violet, silver, gold, and white. There are crystals hanging from the ceiling and wind chimes tinkling all about. This is the coldest hole in the sequence and I bet you're glad that your blanket is handy! The energy associated with this hole eners your crown center at the top of your head. Which is associated with spirituality. If you want, you could say this prayer: "Thank you God that I don't have your job because I sure as heck don't want it".

K. Now when you're ready, allow yourself to return slowly to the room that you're in, sense your relationship to whatevr you may be sitting or lying on, take one more deep cleansin breath, count slowly to 5, stretch yourself out a little, gradually open your eyes and get reaquainted with your environment. Carry the feelings of calm, peace, and relaxation with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope that you've enjoyed this meditation. In a couple of days I'll be back with another one with a simular theme to this one. Until then, ~Nameste~

Variation Of Previous Meditation

This meditation is a good alternative for those who are truly afraid of going out into deep water! It was inspired by an early meditation period upon waking.

Instructions:

A. Make yourself comfortable and allow yourself to relax.

B.. Take a deep cleansing breath all the way down into your belly. Then take another one. Continue to breathe like this for a moment or two.

C. Now picture yourself in you bathroom. Before you stands a large bathtub. It's not a solid color at all, but clear.

D. As you fill the tub with warm water you notice that the tub starts to change color. First it's light blue then light green. As you step into the tub and lie back in it, you'll notice that the shades of blue and green are becoming darker and darker. First they're somewhat light and you're still somewhat alert, but then they're medium shades and you become more relaxed. Rntil finlly the shades of blue and green are very dark and you're totally zoned out. But this time you don't sink down into the bottom because it's shallow.

E. Now if you wish, you could insert a post-hypnotic suggestion or affirmation here_________________________

F. When you're ready, simply reverse the shades o blue and green and allow yourself to become more alert, refreshed, and wide awake.

G. Now, just centering yourself....Sensing your relationship to your surroundings. In addition, the center can become very energized and organized.

H. When you're ready, take one more deep cleansing breath, count slowly to five, stretch yourself out a bit, and slowly open your eyes. Take these calk and peaceful feelings with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

I hope you find these two meditations helpful in acheiving a deep state of relaxation. I'll be back in a couple of days with a new meditation for you. Until then ~Nameste~,

The Ocean Of Blue & Green

This meditation will help you to relax more deeply in preparation for self hypnosis or other visualizations. (Providing that you're not afraid of water)! It was inspired by a wierd dream I had one night a long time ago after practicing yoga before bed.

Instructions:

A. Get into a comfortable position and take a deep cleansing breath. Do whatever you need to in order to relax.

B. Now picture yourself either sitting by or swimming in an ocean of blue and green. If you've been sittting by it, note how calm and peaceful the ocean is. If you've been swimming in it, Note how warm and relaxing it is. Also, note that after you've been swimming in it you're starting to become very tired and you start sinking to the bottom. (There isn't anything in the ocean that can harm you in any way so you feel safe). You'll also notice that the deeper you go, the darker the shades of blue and green become and the more relaxed you become. You start sinking to the bottom now. 10...9...8.... The shades are still light and you're still fairly alert. 7...6...5...Now it's medium shades of blue and green and medium relaxation. 4....3....2....1.....0....Now the shades of blue and green are very dark and you're very relaxed. (If you wish, you could repeat the countdown two or three times to enhance the effect.

C. Now if you want, you can insert your affirmations or your post-hypnotic suggestion here_________________________

D. Now when you're ready, it's time to come back up. Coming all the way back, feeling alert, refreshed, and wide awake. You start to come back up now. 1....2....3.... The shades of blue and reeen ae still dark and you're still very relaxed. 4...5... Now it's medium shades of blue and green and medium relaxation. 6...7...8....Now they're getting lighter and you're becoming more and more alert. 9....Beginning to open your eyes. And 10. Feeling alert, refreshed, and wide-awake. Alert, refreshed, and wide awake.

E. And now, just centering yourself.... Sensing your relationship to your surroundings, the familiar sights, sounds, smells, and textures of your environment and whatever you might be sitting or lying on. In addition, the center can become very energized and organized. Take this feeling of relaxation with you as you go on with the rest of your day or evening.

The Meditation on Giving & Taking

This mnneditation is adapted from a Buddhist practice called Tonglen, as well as the book entitled Calm Birth by Robert Bruce Numan.

A. First, get into a comfortable sitting position in which your spine is balanced and relaxed. (You may wish to use a beanbag chair, a regular chair, or a bunch of chshions or pillows on the bed or floor to help you with this).

B. Inhale and allow your body's healing energy to come in and heal any health concerns or problems that you might have. As well as any emotional issues that you might be facing such as anxiety or fear. Exhale and allow all of these things to be absorbed by your body's healing energy. Continue to breathe in this way for the next few moments.

C, Next, practice Compassionate Healing with your breathing. Breathing with compassion is both far reaching and healing. You can use this xercise to heal any bad experiences that you might have had as well as any hurt that you still may be feeling. Those can be let go by this meditation now, this allows you to be free. What is exhaled is dissolved by your body's healing energy. Exhale and allow all of the hurt and pain of these bad experiences to go. It's time to allow yourself to be healed by the breath and by God's presence.

D. Now turn your attention to someone else. Breathe into your body's healing energy any problems that he/she may be facing. You can do this just as easily as you did for yourself. Whatever you inhale is absorbed by your own heaing energy. Easily exhale into that person all of the healing energy that he/she needs. Continue to practice this for a few moments.

E. There are no boundries in the universal field. (you can reach anyone directly or through prayer) wherever they might be. As you inhale, you absorb the other person's physical or emotional health problems, at the same time you're also breathing in your own. Inhaling easily and effortlessly, in addition as you do this; know that you're giving that person your compassionate care and love. All that you take in is being absorbed by your own healing energy to nourish and heal. Trust in the healing abilities that God has given you.

F. Next, turn your attention to two or three other people. Just as your healing energy has absorbed the problems of one person, it can also absorb the problems of those two or three people. Continue this for a few moments.

B. Now you can extend this practice by taking it to a bigger group of people. Think of a hospital that you know of. Visualze all of the patients, family members, friends, and staff. Go past your own comfort zone. Inhale all of their emotional and physical pain and allow your body's healing energy to absorb it all. In addition with pure motive, exhale the healing energy to everyone at the hospital at the same time.Give everyone at the hospital God's grace now; you're able to do it.

H. Anytime you're in pain, you can inhale that pain and exhale the release. If you practice this now and often, you can avoid needless suffering. You can inhale the pain and exhale the release. You can breathe God's grace into any situation, please do it now.

I. This meditation is an ancient practice that's been proven effective throughout time. The meditation on giving and taking can be done in any place and be done at anytime. Be courageous in doing this compassionate breathing meditation. Notice that what you take in is absorbed by your by your healing energy. In addition, notice how what you send out connects to others. The more you do this meditation for yourself, the easier it becomes. The moe you do this meditation for others, the faster you'll heal. In addition, the more you practice this meditaion, the more life-giving you'll become. Practice this meditation as often as possible.

J. When you're ready, take one or two deep cleansing breaths, count slowly to 5, stretch yourself out a bit, and slowly open your eyes.

I hope that you've found this meditation to be useful in your ability to feel compassion for others. I'll be back in a couple of days with another meditation. Until then ~Nameste, Dana

The Healing Light

With this meditation you'll picture yourself surrounded by a soft golden light that you can use when you're in pain or stressed out.

Instructions:

A. Make yourself comfortable and relax completely. There isn't anything that you have to do or anywhere that you have to be right now. Let your breath become a little bit deeper and a little bit slower..Picture that you're breathing in healing energy into your body All of your cells, tissues, and ogans.

B. After a few minutes, picture your breath as a soft golden light. Now picture the light glowing in all directions. Allow it to fill your whole body with energy. Keep inhaling the light and exhaling what you don't need; any concerns, pain, stress and tension. These things only stand in your way. Allow the light to grow and fill the room that you're in right now. Continue to breathe deeply and slowly allowing this image to stay in your mind's eye for a moment or so.

C. When you're ready, take one more deep cleansing breath, slowly count to 5, stretch yourself out a little, slowly open your eyes and go in peace.

I hope that you find this meditation helpful for whatever life might throw at you. I'll write back in a couple of days. Until then, ~Nameste,

Your Favorite Spot Meditation

Hi it's me again,

Today I want to give you your first guided meditation. It's called your favorite spot. With this mditation you create your own inner retreat which sets the stage for the other meditations in this blog. After doing it a few times, you'll be able to see yourself in your favorite spot anytime you wish. After 2-3 weeks of consistant practice, you'll be able to associate your favorite spot with feelings of calm and tranquility. In addition, remembering your favorite spot will help you to draw upon your own inner resources of strength and power. Practice this meditation as often as you want. Be as creative as you can and enjoy the meditation. Use as many details as you want and use all of your senses to create and maximize the imagery.

Instructions:

A. Make yourself comfortable and relax completely. Breathe deeply and evenly. Picture each in-breath as healing and life giving energy, and each out-breath as taking away all of your pain, stress, tension, and toxins away. Continue breathing in this way for a moment or so, and sense your body and mind entering into a more calm and serene state of being.

B. Now picture yourself in your favorite spot. A place that gives you feelings of calm and well being. It can be anywhere at all, real or imagined. Allow the details of this spot to come to life in as much detail as possible. Know that this is your own personal space. No one can come in without your permission. Take a few moments to enjoy and explore this place. You can come here as often as you wish and feel very calm.

C. When you feel ready, take one more deep cleansing breath, count slowly to five, stretch yourself out a little, open your eyes and go in peace.

I hope that you find this meditation very restful. I'll be back in a couple days with another meditation. Until then ~Nameste,

How to use the meditations in this blog

Hi it's me again. This time I want to give you some tips for getting started with the meditations in this blog. They are as follows:

1. Decide that you want to do it.

2. Give your conscious mind and body permission to relax.

3. Physical release and mental tranquility: (these things have alrady been covered in my book Healing From Withn).

4. Use relaxing images in order to deepen and maintain the feeling of relaxation

5. Use positive self talk and affirmations. (This was also covered in Healing From Within

6. Practice regularly-preferably every day.

7. Read the meditatio several times. Alternitively you could either make a tape of it or have someone read it to you. The person who's reading it to you should read it slowly enough in order to give you enough time to absorb the suggestions. In addition, it should be read to you in a soft voice in order to aid in relaxation.

8. As you practice the guided meditations, try to include as many details and use as many of your senses as possible.

9. If smeone or something interrupts your meditation, just go back to where you've left off. If your mind starts to wander, don't resist it. Acknowledge your thoughts as they pass by, but don't force them away. If negitive feelings should surface, just acknowledge them and continue with the meditation. If they're still bothersome, allow them to surface and examine them. (This is a great way to examine yur feelings and let go of emotional blocks).

10. Feel free to edit and select the meditations in order to meet your needs. Also feel free to change the words and images if you want. Not everyone reacts equally well to the same meditations. The main thing here is that the meditations that you choose make you feel good and positive inside.

Well, that's all the tips for using the meditations in ths blog. in a couple of days I'll give you your first meditation.

Introduction: Why I Wrote This Blog

The purpose of this blog is to give you the reader some meditations and visualizations for you to use for pain and stress management. I've used these meditations myself for many years. I'll tell you a story to illustrate this point:

Many years ago, I had an "impacted wisdom tooth". My former dentist wanted me to have an oral surgeon remove it which would have meant more expense and post-op pain. It also would have meant having to possibly take stronger painkillers (which I didn't want to do since I have a family history of prescription drug abuse and addictions). So what was I going to do to solve this problem? Whenever I felt it pushing against my jaw I would picture it coming in smoothly without any problems. I also used a mantra. I would chant (either silently or out loud), "Go Ahead, Go Ahead, Go Ahead, Go Ahead, Go Ahead That's It! I also used a lot of Lamaze Breathing patterns at times because it would be painful sometimes. Well, anyway, the results were positve and my dentist was able to remove it and the only painkiller that I needed afterwords was a couple of Tylonol. Now bear in mind that this process took a couple of years to complete. It didn't just happen overnight. But I kept at it. And if you want something bad enough you can do it too.

Well, that's it for tonight. Tomorrow I'll give you a few tips on how to get started.
