Hi it's me again here with a new metation. So with that, let's get started.
Make yourself comfortable and allow yourself to relax. Inhale and exhale deeply and slowly. Continue to breathe like this for a moment or two.
Visualize yourself in a cabin in the mountains. There’s a fire crackling in the fireplace. You’re snuggling under a warm comforter while sitting in a well-cushioned chair. See the fire as it dances in front of you. Hear the snapping, crackling, and popping sounds that the wood makes as it surrenders to the flame. Notice the warmth on your face as you wrap yourself up in your quilt.
The cabin is dark accept the areas close to the firelight. There are shadows on the walls and on the floor. Notice the warmth, the sounds, the dance of shadows, and the warmth of the flames. All of these things come together inside of you to make you calm, joyful, and peaceful. Enjoy these good feelings.
You look out the window and you see the snow on the ground. In addition, the full moon washes the scenery with its pale light. The difference between the coolness of the snow and the warmth of the cabin is very inviting. As you look out the window, it starts snowing again. Gently and calmly you take off your comforter, stand up and stretch. You can feel the cool calmness just beyond the circle of warmth made by the fire. Calmly you more toward the door, open it and step outdoors.
The cold air is invigorating and wakes you up. You welcome the cold contrast. Notice how one delicate snowflake lands on the back of your hand. Pay attention to its beauty and serenity. It looks like a tiny ice sculpture that was made just for you. So tiny and fragile. It’s hard to believe that the earth is covered with so many of these tiny ice sculptures.
You stand quietly and observe the snowflake. There’s nothing that you have to do or anywhere that you have to be right now. You watch the snowflake. Your hand’s warmth reaches through the snowflake and it starts melting. However, just as that one goes away, another one lands on the same place. It’s so similar to the other one, but so different.
Observe the snow while it softly falls. It caresses your eyelashes and lands on your face. The snow falls to the ground in its own way and at its own pace. There’s no need to hurry no need to rush. It’s as if every flake is enjoying the trip.
Just as the snowfalls at its own pace and in its own way, your body will heal itself at its own pace and in its own way. As you watch the snowfall you think to yourself, “My body’s own healing energy will take over in due time without any planning or effort on my part. There isn’t anything that I have to do but to just let it happen.”
Come back inside of the cabin, wrap yourself in your quilt, close your eyes and relax.
Take another deep cleansing breath and exhale slowly. Keep your eyes closed and notice your surroundings. Breathe in and out. You feel totally refreshed and rested by your trip to the cabin. When you feel ready, take one more deep cleansing breath, count to five slowly, stretch yourself out a bit, and slowly open your eyes.
I hope that you've enjoyed this meditation as much as I've enjoyed bringing it to you. I'll be back in a cuple of days with a new one until then ~Nameste~,
Dana
